The wonderful world of Cairns

Cairns is set in beautiful tropical north Queensland and is hot all year round. It's a small town with lots of pubs, lots of women and lots of backpackers going absolutely crazy. You'll soon get the idea. But first here's some pics of what there is to see in and around town...

Click on the images below for enlarged versions (sorry this didn't work before)

Ah! The glorious Lagoon. This was taken just before lots of naked sunbathers turned up. Sorry, no photos!

The person in this shot is actually Shad!

Sunrise at the Lagoon.

A wee monument thing

Gez showing off his canon

A wee boat at sunrise

Look! We're on tele again!

They were filming these guys (not Micky) who were old Olympic people. Not sure If they were winners or the original Olympian Gods as we never saw the news story, but they were all rather old. Maybe they were just coming to watch? Eh, who knows.

Anyone fancy a swim!? I think someone might have been eaten here recently.

I was proud of myself, getting within three metres of this thing. It was massive!! I'm still having nightmares. This was taken at the Cairns Botanic Gardens.

A wee walk through the tropical rain forest.

Mad fish, in... the water (funnily enough)

An Egret fishing in the Lagoon.

An Osprey looking for fish down the harbour.

This harbour.

The waterfront at night.

Killer bees.

Our mate flat eric! This gecko obviously played hide and seek in the wrong doorway! Eugh! The moral of the story is... it's rubbish being a Gecko.
